KUALA LUMPUR. Lima aktivis gerakan anti LGBT didakwa di pengadilan Malaysia karena telah diduga memasang poster anti LGBT di Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. Pada 4 febuari 2012, jam 03:40. Lima orang tersebut adalah Muhammad Nizam Ali 24 tahun, Hamzah Mahmood 32, Md Norizam Che Othman 31tahun, ShahirSaarani 30tahun, dan Mohd Jamil Jamaluddin 36 tahun.
Poster tersebut berisi kata-kata “rasis Guan Lim Eng”, “Lim Guan Eng Anti Melayu”, “Lesbian GayBiseksual Trans” dan “Undi Ambiga Undi Seks Bebas”.
Wakil penuntut umum Haderiah Siri mengusulkan bahwa jaminan untuk satu orang terdakwa sebesar RM10, 000. Namun Rezal Mazli Abdul Muin Penasehat Hukum terdakwa mengatakan jaminan yang diusulkan terlalu tinggi dan ia menyarankan agar jaminan tersebut sebesar RM 300 per orang. Karena yang dilakukan oleh Klien-nya hanyalah sebuah tindak Kriminal kecil.
Persidangan ini akan dilanjutkan pada 7 Mei mendatang, sementara Lima orang tersangka masih buron.

KUALA LUMPUR: Five activists of the anti-lesbian gay bisexual transgender movement were charged at the magistrate’s court here, yesterday under the Minor Offences Act 1955 with putting up certain posters.
Muhammad Nizam Ali, 24, Hamzah Mahmood, 32, Md Norizam Che Othman, 31, Shahir Saarani, 30, and Mohd Jamil Jamaluddin, 36, pleaded not guilty to committing the offence at Jalan Wan Kadir in Taman Tun Dr Ismail at 3.40am on Feb 4.
They were alleged to have committed the offence with five others still at large.
They were said to have put up, at a public space, posters with pictures and words such as “Lim Guan Eng Racist”, “Lim Guan Eng Anti Melayu”, “Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trans” and “Undi Ambiga Undi Seks Bebas”.
Deputy public prosecutor Haderiah Siri proposed bail for each of the accused at RM10,000 with one surety. Defence counsel Rezal Mazli Abdul Muin said the proposed bail was too high and suggested RM300 for each person.
He said the five accused were first-time offenders and that they were being charged with a minor offence which carries a maximum fine of RM1,000 if found guilty.
Magistrate Zulkpli Abdullah fixed bail at RM1,000 each and allowed two bailors to post bail for the five accused.
He fixed May 7 for mention.
One of the bailors was Tengku Amalluddin Sani, national secretary of Jaringan Melayu Malaysia, who said that the five had come to the association for legal help.
Nizam and Hamzah were unemployed and Jamil was self-employed. Norizam and Shahir were mechanics.
The five posted bail.
